Caboose Farm 1972
The Story of Caboose Farm
Caboose Farm is more than just a venue—it’s a place rich in history, hard work, and family dedication. What began as a private retreat for our family has transformed over the years into a welcoming destination for gatherings, celebrations, and corporate retreats.
A Family Legacy
Future Event Barn and Washington House
Our journey with Caboose Farm began in 1971 when our family purchased the original 67 acres of land. Drawn to its rolling hills, scenic landscapes, and peaceful charm, we saw its potential as a place where family and friends could gather to enjoy nature and create lasting memories. Over the years, we expanded the property to over 200 acres, preserving its beauty while enhancing its functionality.
As the farm grew, we made thoughtful additions to enrich its character. A scenic pond was created to complement the natural landscape, and a historic caboose was brought in to add a unique touch to the property. The houses were also remodeled to combine rustic charm with modern comforts, ensuring a warm and inviting experience for all who visit.

A New Chapter
In 2012, the current owners took over Caboose Farm and explored different ways to monetize the property while maintaining its integrity. After considering various options, the turning point came when a family friend asked to host a weekend wedding using all the houses. The experience revealed the farm’s potential as a one-of-a-kind venue where guests could celebrate in a private, scenic setting while staying together on-site.
Expanding the Vision
As our connection to the land grew, so did our vision for what Caboose Farm could become. We invested in upgrading existing structures, restoring the landscape, and adding new facilities to accommodate larger gatherings. The addition of our three-story event barn helped transform the farm into a versatile retreat while maintaining its welcoming atmosphere.

A Venue to Share
What started as a family gathering space naturally evolved into something greater. Inspired by that first wedding, we embraced the idea of opening Caboose Farm to the public. We refined our guest services, expanded event offerings, and created a unique destination for weddings, corporate retreats, and family reunions.
Today, Caboose Farm is a premier destination for those looking to escape the everyday and celebrate life’s most meaningful moments. While the farm continues to grow, its heart remains the same—a place rooted in family, hospitality, and the joy of bringing people together.
